Primrose Schools Unveils Its Highly Anticipated Urban Model

For the first time in the company’s twenty eight year history, Primrose Schools, the Leader In Educational Child Care®, is introducing its nationally renowned Balanced Learning® curriculum and child care services in a metropolitan setting. Primrose Schools’ first urban school will open on August 23, 2010 in Midtown Atlanta and serve as the prototype for aggressive franchise expansion to serve families in major downtown areas across the U.S.

Family ready to open Primrose school in Carmel

Scott and Mindy Smith will open Primrose School of Carmel on Aug. 30. This is the Smiths' second school in the Indianapolis market as they opened Primrose School of Gray Eagle in 2007.

"We tried other schools here and we never had the same feeling as we did when we walked into the Primrose," said Smith, a Fishers resident. "We kept calling Primrose to bug them to open a school in Indiana. We called one too many times and they said they had a site ready and available and they were looking for franchise ownership."

Sign language cuts frustration levels, helps babies communicate

"Using sign language promotes the development of enhanced language skills and increased vocabularies, the development of fine motor skills, and improved self-esteem," said Mary Zurn, vice president of education and professional development at Primrose. "Research has shown that by age 2, young signers can have an average of 50 more spoken words than non-signers."
