Founded in Atlanta in 1982, Primrose Schools revolutionized the concept of child care, making education the key component of its curriculum in an era when “all-play and nothing-but-play” was the accepted norm. Primrose is a trusted private preschool organization that provides premier educational child care experiences for children and families. The schools serve children six-weeks to 6 years old as well as after-school programs for children up to 12 years old.
Our Reach
Primrose Schools currently operates more than 240 schools in 17 states in 30 U.S. markets. Last year, parents of approximately 34,800 children across the country chose Primrose to educate and care for their children.

Our Balanced Learning®
The company’s proprietary Balanced Learning® system is research-based and includes multiple components that support children’s social-emotional, cognitive, creative and physical development. The system includes curriculum aligned to early learning standards, developmentally appropriate equipment and instructional materials, varied forms of assessment and extensive training for teachers. It is designed to help children develop Active Minds, Healthy Bodies and Happy Hearts and the right foundation for future learning and life.
Our Standards of Excellence New Primrose franchise owners receive the training and ongoing support they need to successfully open and operate a school during the Initial Training and Opening Support Process. The Primrose internal quality assurance program ensures that schools meet the operational and educational standards necessary to deliver the best and most trusted early childhood education and child care services.
Academically Accredited
In 1998, Primrose became the first educational preschool company to earn national accreditation from CITA/SACS CASI (now part of AdvancED) paving the way for others to follow. AdvancED accreditation provides an external assurance of quality standards and continuous improvement.
Proven Results
Results from the past six years of the Bracken Assessment, a nationally recognized assessment specially designed for young children, show Primrose students attained a higher mastery of school readiness concepts – in most cases, twice the level of their peers.
Franchising
Primrose Schools are owned and independently operated by caring, dedicated and highly professional franchise owners. Approximately 80 percent of Primrose franchise owners are former Primrose parents who decided to join the business after having a positive, personal experience with the schools.
Revenue
Primrose system revenues reached $342 million in 2011, up 10 percent from 2010.
