About Us

Founded in Atlanta in 1982, Primrose Schools revolutionized the concept of child care, making education a key component of its curriculum in an era when “all-play and nothing-but-play” was the accepted norm. Primrose provides high quality child care and education for children six-weeks to six-years-old, with private preschool and private kindergarten, as well as after-school programs for children up to 12-years-old.

Our Reach

Primrose Schools currently operates more than 212 schools in 15 states in 30 U.S. markets.  Last year approximately 34,800 children across the country were entrusted in Primrose’s care.

Proprietary Curriculum

The Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum blends the two leading philosophies in early childhood education - the child-initiated and teacher-directed approach - with a balance of learning, character development and play. The curriculum is delivered consistently throughout all Primrose Schools nationwide.

Parent Trusted

In an independent national study, Primrose achieved a 91 percent satisfaction rating among its parents for key quality measurements including nurturing environment, quality of curriculum, classroom environment and cleanliness of schools.

Academically Accredited

In 1998, Primrose became the first educational preschool company to earn national accreditation from CITA/SACS CASI (now part of AdvancED), paving the way for others to follow later.  Primrose requires that all of its schools become NCA CASI or SACS CASI accredited.  This gold standard accreditation means that a school has opened its doors to rigorous external assessment in an effort to provide an outstanding experience for its students.  In fact, the AdvancED accreditation process is shared by more than 27,000 educational institutions across the world.

Franchising

Primrose Schools are owned and operated by caring and dedicated franchise owners across the country. Approximately 80 percent of Primrose franchise owners are former Primrose parents who decided to join the business after having a positive, personal experience with the schools.

Primrose franchise owners receive six-months of training prior to opening a school, as well as ongoing support. Primrose Schools maintains a strong internal quality assurance program which evaluates schools four times per year in the areas of health and safety, educational curriculum delivery, campus environment, business management and communications. This provides consistent reinforcement for parents that Primrose is on top of and continually improving its offerings and school environment.
